Things We Live By

In the Fall 2021 course Design Knowledge and Skills at UNIST, students explored iconic designs from the modern to contemporary era and interpreted them through editorial design. Their works were later compiled into a single publication.

As an intern at EXPC Lab, I took part in the overall editing process and designed the cover to bring together works spanning different periods, objects, and stories.

The cover reflects the idea of looking more closely at designs that have already become familiar icons. I connected the vertical strokes of the title to form a single bold graphic and extended parts of it beyond the frame, creating the sense of zooming in on a scene.
